embedded system design
System Design in Intelligent Industrial Automation
Call for Papers
The EURASIP Journal of Embedded Systems (JES) is an international journal that serves the large community of researchers and professional engineers who deal with the theory and practice of embedded systems, particularly encompassing all practical aspects of theory and methods used in designing homogeneous as well as heterogeneous embedded systems that combine data-driven and control-driven behaviours.
Special Issue Scope
The ongoing embedded revolution had actively influenced industrial automation. There is a trend observed in manufacturing and industrial informatics on increasing the level of software design and application of hardware/software co design techniques. The system design approaches of embedded systems domain and industrial automation domain are rapidly converging. This special issue is co organised by O³neida — the leading international organization for intelligent industrial automation — with principal focus on the topics relevant to theory and practice of embedded platform design for industrial automation applications, with special emphasise on software architectures and hardware platforms for intelligent automation:
- Models of embedded computations suitable for industrial automation applications
- Embedded controllers of new generation suitable for distributed intelligent control
- Programming languages and frameworks
- Execution models and runtime platforms
- Software tools
- Intelligence on the device level: semantic web and agent technologies
- Applications of advanced embedded solutions in industrial automation
Quality papers are solicited on these and other relevant subjects.
Submitted papers should not have been previously published nor are currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. ES is an Open Access journal. Publishing an article in ES requires an article processing charge. First six pages of a paper are published free of charge, but for each subsequent page the charge of 100/page will be billed to the corresponding author. Open Access is a new business model for academic publishing that enables immediate, worldwide, barrier-free, open access to the full text of research articles for the best interests of the scientific community. All interested readers can read, download, and/or print any open access articles without requiring a subscription to the journal in which these articles are published. The copyright is not transferred to the journal and remains with the authors of the paper. All papers are refereed through a thorough peer review process.
Authors should follow the EURASIP JES manuscript format described at the journal site. s/es/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the EURASIP JES Manuscript Tracking System at /, according to the following timetable:
